Podcast repurposing is exactly what it sounds like — repurposing (using the content you already have, in this case, your podcast) your content and turning it into multiple pieces of content for different platforms.
This could look like repurposing your podcast episodes into LinkedIn posts, Instagram posts, pins for Pinterest, videos for Instagram Reels or YouTube shorts, and blog posts. Posting on more platforms lead to more visibility, and more visibility equals more eyes on your content (and more potential clients and customers in your world).
Repurposing your podcast allows you to maintain consistent messaging across your platforms, increase your brand awareness on multiple platforms, and spend less time on content ideation and more on content creation — or, in this case, content re-creation.
To put it simply, repurposing your podcast allows you to spend more time on creating one very valuable long-form piece of content (your podcast episodes) so you can spend less time creating separate pieces of content across multiple platforms.

What is Podcast Repurposing?
As I mentioned above, podcast repurposing is repurposing your podcast content (for example, your podcast episodes) into other types of content optimized for the different platforms you want to show up on and grow your brand or business.
You can do this literally by breaking your podcast episodes into smaller pieces and republishing them as audiograms, YouTube shorts, IG Reels, or quotes (and more if you decide to record video podcasts); the possibilities are endless. You can also do this by taking and pulling key ideas from your content or concepts to create more content from that one piece.
For example, if you publish a podcast episode on your three favorite tips, you could pull apart what you share as your three tips and create three different Instagram carousels about each.
Or, keep all three and repurpose them into a blog post that goes more in-depth about the informational/educational aspects of your tips vs. the personal anecdotes you shared in your podcast.
How to Repurpose Your Podcast Episodes
When I’m editing my podcast in Descript, I love to go ahead and pull out those “mic drop” moments. Save these audio clips in real-time so they’re still fresh in your head!
You can start repurposing your podcast episodes by transcribing these clips and you’ll have what you need to begin the process of creating new content for different platforms.
When creating from your podcast episodes, plan what you want your content to do (sell, educate, or build your community) and where you want to publish it (are you creating for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook?) and repurpose your content while keeping the strategies used for the different platforms in mind.
You can batch it, or you can work as you go (although I recommend batching your repurposed podcast content so you’re not jumping back and forth) and house all your content in a planner or Google Doc.
What Type of Content Can You Create?
I mentioned a few different platforms, but there is no specific platform you can or can’t repurpose on.
As for what you can create on each platform, here are a few ideas:
- Instagram: You can turn your podcast episodes into reels using audiograms or b-roll with a text overlay, educational carousels breaking down complex topics or sharing multiple points, captions sharing company values and ideas, or adding to your stories.
- Facebook: You can break down your points and turn them into Facebook group posts or add your ideas on a graphic and share them on your Facebook page.
- Blog Post: You can create long-form full blog posts or use shorter ones as a summary; you can write your posts in a similar flow as your episodes or create listicle-style blog posts covering your main points.
- LinkedIn: You can create carousel posts or long-form captions to share the information repurposed from your podcast episode.
- Pinterest: You can create short-form video pins from your audio or use the b-roll and overlay text method, as well as create infographics for your pins.
How to Start Repurposing Your Podcast Episodes
You can repurpose your podcast episodes on your own and DIY your content, or you can work with a content repurposing agency that does the work for you! DIY-ing is a great option when you cannot invest, have the time to spend, and want to do more with your podcast.
Working with a podcast repurposing agency is ideal for business owners who want to share their messaging and be present across multiple platforms without stressing their content creation and sacrificing the little time they have.
Either way, you’ll see (and experience) the benefits of repurposing your podcast! But if you’re looking to work with a repurposing agency, fill out this form, and let’s make some podcast magic.
